Steelers TE Eric Ebron on lack of catches: ‘Winning just glorifies it all’

As long as the Steelers win, Eric Ebron isn’t worried about his stats.

Through two games, the Pittsburgh Steelers haven’t quite seen the rewards of signing tight end Eric Ebron in free agency. Ebron has caught four passes for 61 yards and has yet to find the end zone.

But Ebron isn’t worried about his targets or stats as long as the team is winning. According to Ebron, “winning cures it all” and “as long as we’re winning, that’s ultimately why I really came here.”

This all sounds great. But Steelers brought Ebron in to help them win, not to win in spite of him. There’s no doubt the Steelers have a veritable plethora of weapons on offense so no one is asking Ebron to be Travis Kelce.

Let’s just hope Ebron becomes this team’s secret weapon when the team gets into the meat of the schedule and have to face the better defenses in the NFL. Ebron is a chasm of unrealized potential who should be able to flourish in this offense.
