Steelers T Chuks Okorafor goes down late with concussion

Steelers rookie OT Broderick Jones could get his first NFL start next week.

After the Pittsburgh Steelers big loss to the San Francisco 49ers, head coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media. In terms of injuries, a big one that stood out was the injury to starting right tackle Chuks Okorafor.

According to Tomlin, Okorafor is likely headed to the concussion protocol which means two big changes to the Steelers offensive line. When Okorafor went down, starting left tackle Dan Moore Jr. moved over to the right and rookie Broderick Jones came in to play on the left side.

If Okorafor’s injury is significant, Jones could get his first NFL start next week against the Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh drafted Jones in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft to be the starting left tackle and we might see that sooner than expected.
