According to the NFL’s transactions report, the Pittsburgh Steelers have added a defensive back. The Steelers have signed former Notre Dame defensive back Jalen Elliott to its training-camp roster. The Steelers had Elliott last week.
Elliott has been in the NFL since 2020. After being originally signed by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent, Elliott spent his first two seasons on and off of the practice squad for Detroit.
After being waived in early 2022, Elliott spent part of that season with the New England Patriots and part with the Las Vegas Raiders.
The Steelers safeties have dealt with a myriad of issues from injuries to family matters so it makes sense to add a bit of depth with the team’s first preseason game coming up on Friday. To make room for Elliott on the roster, the Steelers waived wide receiver Ja’Marcus Bradley.
