Steelers sign five defenders to reserve/futures contracts

The Steelers continue building their offseason roster with the addition of five defenders.

After signing 16 to reserve/futures contracts last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers inked five more today.

Players on reserve/futures contracts are not officially under contract until the start of the season. It doesn’t count against the salary cap or the roster limit for the 2023-2024 season. The contract is credited against the 2024-2025 salary cap, and the player counts against the offseason 90-man roster limit.

Once signed to a futures contract, the player cannot negotiate with any other teams.

This will be an ongoing process, as teams can sign as many players to futures contracts providing it doesn’t put them over the 90-man limit that takes effect the first day of the new league year.
