It took four rounds but the Pittsburgh Steelers finally addressed what might be their biggest offseason need. The Steelers used the No. 124 overall pick to select former Maryland running back Anthony McFarland Jr. in the fourth round.

McFarland is something of a mixed bag as a prospect. The Steelers want speed and McFarland plays faster than he times. He’s got several big runs on his resume which had to be enticing for Pittsburgh.

But injuries have really limited him going all the way back to high school. It’s unlikely he’s going to be able to carry a heavy load in the NFL but as a change of pace type of back who could find a niche spelling James Conner and Benny Snell Jr. in the run game.
