The Pittsburgh Steelers were informed on Monday that Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey had tested positive for COVID-19. The Steelers and Ravens squared off on Sunday which throws the Steelers into full intensive COVID-19 protocols.
The Steelers players were tested after the game per league mandate and all tests came back negative. Nevertheless, the league rules are fairly clear about contact and we should look for more steps by the team to ensure there is no potential spread.
Per Steelers communications head Burt Lauten:
We will follow the NFL’s intensive protocols and take precautionary measures at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex to ensure the safety of our players, coaches and staff remain our highest priority.
Pittsburgh begins preparations for their upcoming game with the Dallas Cowboys as they look to start the season 8-0 for the first time in franchise history.
