According to NFL reporter Tom Pelissero, the Pittsburgh Steelers have released guard David DeCastro.

DeCastro was the Steelers first-round pick in 2012 and has started 124 games for Pittsburgh with six Pro Bowls and three All-Pros. DeCastro has been dealing with an injury situation for much of the offseason.

The Steelers drafted guard/center Kendrick Green out of Illinois in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft and have explored free agency as well. DeCastro’s play had been on a steady decline over the past two seasons and this move goes hand in hand with the full overhaul of the offensive line happening in Pittsburgh this offseason.
