On Monday, Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Najee Harris threw out the first pitch for the San Francisco Giants before their game with the St. Louis Cardinals. This isn’t the first time Harris has thrown out an opening pitch as he also threw one out for the Pittsburgh Pirates back on June 5.
Harris was the Steelers first-round pick in the 2021 NFL draft. The plan is for Harris to become the new workhorse back for Pittsburgh and bring a dominant rushing attack back to Steel City.
The reason Harris was throwing out a pitch for the Giants on Monday is he is from the Bay area and was back home working with the state to help with the homelessness problem in California. Harris himself was homeless for a time when he was younger.
