This season has been a series of struggles for Pittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris. After a strong rookie campaign, Harris’ game has taken a step back in 2022 as the entire Pittsburgh offense has struggled.
Harris addressed the media on Friday and while you could clearly discern Harris’ frustration not only with himself and with the insistent media he doesn’t seem like a guy who is ready to give up on the season. Harris has battled a Lisfranc injury but no one is saying exactly how healthy Harris is.
On the season, Harris has 361 rushing yards and has averaged only 3.3 yards per carry. The reasons for this are varying and it depends on who you ask. The best way for Harris to quiet the media is to produce. Harris and the Steelers get their next chance to turn things around on Sunday when they take on the New Orleans Saints at Acrisure Stadium.
Najee Harris acknowledges that this season has been a struggle, but that it’s nothing that he hasn’t seen before.
“God gives his most challenges to his strongest soldiers,” he said.
I asked him how he’s gotten through those adversities ⬇️ #Steelers @937theFan pic.twitter.com/6aNZPOMUgM
