On Sunday, in the team’s thrilling 23-20 overtime win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers running back suffered a foot injury near the end of regulation. Techinically he aggrivated an already existing Lisfranc injury that he dealt with for most of the preseason.

But despite being in a boot at one point, Harris is optimistic he will be ready to go against the New England Patriots this week. Head coach Mike Tomlin does not share his enthusiasm at this point.

According to Tomlin, Harris’ participation in practice will determine if he can actually play. “He’s going to have to prove his readiness in practice,” Tomlin said.

If Harris cannot go, look for undrafted rookie Jaylen Warren to get his first NFL start. Warren came in on Sunday and while he didn’t run particularly well, it was very enouraging to see how well he blocked as a rookie UDFA.
