For the first time ever, a player from the University of Pittsburgh has been named ACC Male Athlete of the Year. And it just so happens to be new Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback Kenny Pickett.
The Steelers selected Pickett in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft after a remarkable 2021 season. Pickett was easily one of the most improved players in all of college football last season. Pickett threw for 4,319 yards and 42 passing touchdowns. Pickett also rushed for 241 more yards and racked up five rushing scores as well.
Pickett led the Panthers to an 11-3 record after going 6-5 the previous season. Pickett also finished third in the voting for the Heisman trophy last year.
