It’s been a long time since we saw Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger get in front of a microphone but when he did this week, we got to see a confident player who seems to have put his injury from last season behind him. In speaking to the media on Tuesday, Roethlisberger had an energy about him that really went well with his new level of fitness and ever-present confidence.

It had to be tough to be Roethlisberger and sit back and watch his team struggle so much but still finish so close to the playoffs last season. However, despite some nervousness in front of the microphone, Roethlisberger made it clear why he worked so hard to come back better than ever and what motivates him.

“And I just want to win Lombardis,” Roethlisberger said. “And I say that with a plural on the end.” While we appreciate Roethlisberger’s confidence and while we do think the Steelers are quietly a contender in the AFC, the salary cap could seriously derail future plans.
