On Saturday, the Pittsburgh Steelers announced a handful of roster moves. The most significant of those was to send two key players to the Reserve/Injured list.

Pittsburgh is placing both tight end Eric Ebron and offensive lineman J.C. Hassenauer on IR, meaning both guys will miss a minimum of three games. Ebron had been the co-starting tight end with rookie Pat Freiermuth and Hassenauer was plugged in at left guard when Kevin Dotson was injured. Ebron’s injury is to his knee and Hassenauer has a pec injury.

In place of Ebron, the Steelers will continue to expand the role of Zach Gentry with Freiermuth. The team will also keep Kevin Rader on the 53-man roster as the No. 3 tight end.

Hassenauer has been replaced in the starting lineup by swing offensive lineman Joe Haeg. The team hasn’t ruled out a return for Kevin Dotson so he could come back and play before Hassenauer is available.
