The Pittsburgh Steelers announced early Monday morning they would be placing the franchise tag on outside linebacker Bud Dupree. The Steelers finally saw a breakout season from Dupree in 2019 and want to find a way to keep him in the fold.
If the two sides cannot come to an agreement on a longterm contract, Dupree would play the 2020 season on a one-year contract worth $15.8 million. The Steelers are currently very strapped for cash as they have almost no salary cap space. Look for some big cuts announced soon in order to make these numbers fit.
