NFL sites cannot agree on just how good the Steelers are right now.

The 2020 NFL draft is only two weeks away and Sports Illustrated has put out their updated pre-draft power rankings. In going over the multitude of NFL power rankings out there on the internet right now, it’s pretty clear there is no consensus about what to make of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Sports Illustrated have the Steelers at No. 13 and as the article points out, everything hinges on the surgically repaired elbow of quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

With the newly approved expansion of the playoff field, the Steelers would have been playing in January last season even without Ben Roethlisberger, a testament to the kind of coach Mike Tomlin is. GM Kevin Colbert has said he believes they could have a better Roethlisberger after his elbow surgery, though that is a high bar, particularly as the other members of the 2004 QB class have either retired (Eli Manning) or moved to other teams (Philip Rivers).

The Steelers have missed the playoffs the last two seasons and are looking to rebound with an elite defense and Roethlisberger’s return to bring balance on offense.
