Steelers narrow 4-point favorites over winless Texans at home

Oddsmakers aren’t giving the Steelers much this week.

Despite being 2-0, not all the oddsmakers are convinced the Pittsburgh Steelers are a top team. Pittsburgh takes on the Houston Texans who currently sit at 0-2 but despite this and the fact Pittsburgh is playing at home, the Steelers are only narrow 4-point favorites according to BetMGM.

Why is the line so close? It comes down to a couple of factors. First, while the Steelers have won their first two games, they have done so against bad football teams. A Steelers defense that was one of the best in the league last season let a couple of average quarterbacks play very well.

This means the Steelers defense is going to get its toughest test of the season against Deshaun Watson. He’s one of the elite young quarterbacks in the league and has two weeks of film on the Steelers defense to figure out how guys like Daniel Jones and Jeff Driskell were so successful.

Considering how close the Steelers played the Broncos last week, I’m not sure I would give 4 points this week. This one could definitely come down to a final field goal.
