The Pittsburgh Steelers secondary took two big hits this offseason with the losses of cornerbacks Steven Nelson and Mike Hilton. The Steelers defense has been the standard in the NFL the last two seasons but no one is pretending they won’t be huge shoes to fill.

These losses are why when Pro Football Focus put out their secondary rankings for 2022, the Steelers group was all the way down at No. 12.

It is hard to imagine a group with cornerback Joe Haden and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick not being in the top 10 but the unknown of guys like Cameron Sutton and James Pierre are more than enough to cause concern.

These losses in the secondary also put more pressure on the pass rush. A pass rush missing Bud Dupree. Are they going to be able to pull their weight or will the entire defense struggle?
