The NFL Network announced its top 10 players for 2021 on Saturday. The Top 100 series is voted on by players, giving a little different perspective on a typical ranking.
Until Saturday, the Pittsburgh Steelers weren’t very well represented on the list. Only defensive tackle Cam Heyward and safety Minkah Fitzpatrick had made the list. But we knew outside linebacker T.J. Watt was in the top 10, we just weren’t sure where.
Watt checked in at No. 9 on the list. He was one of only two defensive players to make the top 10. Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was No. 2. In a league dominated by offensive stars, for Watt to move up from 25 in 2020 to nine this year is an impressive feat.
