From the moment the Pittsburgh Steelers signed inside linebacker Kwon Alexander, we said he was the best one on the roster. The team gutted out the depth chart and added Elandon Roberts and Cole Holecomb first but Alexander has asserted himself through two games and will be wearing the green dot this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Alexander talked about the transition:
“It’s been smooth,” Alexander said. I’ve had the dot before. I played Mike linebacker my first four years. It ain’t nothing different. I just get the call and then go out there and do the work.”
Alexander currently leads the team with 17 total tackles. The run defense has been dreadful through two games and at least some of it has been because of communication issues. Giving Alexander the green dot puts the onus on him to help keep the front seven on the same page to help slow down Las Vegas running back Josh Jacobs.
