Our friends over at Draft Wire believe it is never too early to talk about the next NFL draft. The 2020 draft might just be a week old but they already have us a 2021 mock draft to check out. And you know we had to do it. You can check out the whole thing here but let’s talk about the Steelers pick.

They have the Steelers pick No. 22 overall in the first round and they explain this is based on current Super Bowl odds. With the pick, Draft Wire gives the Steelers Georgia offensive lineman Cade Mays.

Mays will be a junior next season but has proven he is ready for the NFL. Georiga moved the 6-foot-6, 313-pound lineman all over the line in 2019 but we’d really like to see him settle in at tackle in 2020. This is the position where he could help the Steelers the most in terms of a future starter.

As the 2020 season goes on, we will discover where the holes are on the Steelers roster. But it’s safe to say the Steelers aren’t going to pass on an elite tackle.
