Steelers land massive defensive tackle, athletic quarterback in new mock draft

Check out this new mock draft for the Steelers.

The NFL season is over so that means it’s draft season. NFL draft pundits all over the internet are going to start churning out prospect reports, player rankings and mock drafts. Draft writer Chad Reuter put out a three-round mock draft, which is especially interesting to the Pittsburgh Steelers since they do not have a first-round pick this year.

But in the second round the Steelers land massive Utah defensive tackle Leki Fotu. Fotu is a 335-pound mountain of a man who would give Pittsburgh the type of anchor this defense has lacked since Casey Hampton retired. If the Steelers lose Javon Hargrave to free agency, Fotu would be a perfect upgrade.

Moving to the third round, the Steelers land former Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts’ stock took something of a hit late in the season when the Sooners offense struggled but he’s still an enticing athletic package with legitimate NFL quarterback tools. He’d be an excellent pick to push Mason Rudolph for the backup quarterback spot.
