The NFL players have spoken and saw fit to vote in one member of the Pittsburgh Steelers to the player-voted All-Pro team. The team was announced and the only member of Pittsburgh to make the cut was free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick tied for the league lead in interceptions in 2022 with six and was a leader on the Steelers defense. After a 2021 season that saw Fitzpatrick relegated to a tackler only, 2022 saw the old Fitzpatrick who was named an All-Pro in his first two years with the Steelers.
In 15 games, Fitzpatrick finished with 98 tackles, six interceptions, 11 passes defended and scored the fourth defensive touchdown of his career. A strong case can be made that this was Fitzpatrick’s best season overall as a pro.
If you want to talk snubs, Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones and Cleveland Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett made it in over Cam Heyward and Alex Highsmith respectively. Both players had huge seasons but with only starters and only players voted on by other players, it is hard to get too excited about who made it and who didn’t.
