Steelers host pair of defensive backs for workouts

The Steelers are looking to add another cornerback.

According to NFL reporter Aaron Wilson, the Pittsburgh Steelers hosted workouts for a pair of cornerbacks on Wednesday. Wilson has reported that Pittsburgh brought in Montrae Braswell and Mac McCain.

Braswell is a rookie who played his college ball at Missouri State University. He was on the Seattle Seahawks 90-man roster for part of the offseason. He’s got decent size and plays faster than he tested. He was the best cornerback in the Missouri Valley Conference in 2022.

McCain has been in the league since 2021. He was originally signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of North Carolina A&T. McCain has spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Denver Broncos and most recently the Detroit Lions.

Once the Steelers place Alfonzo Graham on IR with a torn Labrum, the team will have a spot on the 90-man roster. based on these workouts, it seems the Steelers are going to fill it with a cornerback. The team did sign two running backs on Wednesday as well as released running back Jason Huntley.
