The search of the Pittsburgh Steelers next wide receivers coach is over. The team announced on Tuesday that former NFL wide receiver Ike Hilliard would be the man to replace Darryl Drake.
Hilliard spent 12 seasons in the NFL, mostly with the New York Giants after being their first-round pick back in 1997. Hilliard has 546 career receptions.
As far as coaching, Hilliard has worked for three different NFL teams. Most recently, Hilliard was the wide receivers coach for the Washington Redskins. He’s also worked in that same role for the Buffalo Bills.
Pittsburgh lost wide receivers coach Darryl Drake last season when he passed away suddenly. The Steelers have a talented young group of wideouts who will benefit greatly from the addition of Hilliard to the staff.
