Tomlin on watching Thursday night without a first-round pick: "It's going to be a spectator's view. It's a good opportunity for us to get comfortable with the organization of all of this."

When the 2020 NFL draft kicks off on Thursday, the Pittsburgh Steelers will sit back and watch the events unfold. Thanks to their trade for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, the Steelers are without a first-round pick but instead have one of the best young safeties in the NFL.
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media via Zoom on Monday and spun the lack of a first-round pick into a positive in a most clever way. With the draft going all digital this year and with no one accustomed to this new format, Pittsburgh can just sit back and let the rest of the NFL work out the bugs in the system.
Before anyone says it, yes there is always a chance for Pittsburgh to trade up into the first round. The cost would be high to move up from No. 49 and I’m not sure there’s a player worth the cost but yes, anything is possible.
