Mike Tomlin says they didn’t give any real consideration to not practicing today.

Unfortunately, when Pittsburgh Steelers Mike Tomlin addressed the media on Thursday things couldn’t just be able football and preparing for the start of the NFL season. In the wake of an incident between police and a suspect in Kenosha Wisconsin, there have been many grand gestures from professional sports teams in various leagues including a mock forfeiture of an NBA playoff game.
But according to Tomlin, the Steelers gave no real consideration to not holding practice as some sort of form of protest. Tomlin stuck to football and kept the team on track as they prepare to square off with the New York Giants in the first game of the regular season.
The Steelers have dealt with numerous distractions over the past several seasons but have done their very best to deflect all this political drama away from the team. I think it was an excellent choice by Tomlin and the Steelers to avoid this scene completely.
