The Pittsburgh Steelers were stuck waiting late into Sunday night to find out their playoff fate on Sunday night. One guy who didn’t quite make it to the end of the thrilling overtime game between the Las Vegas Chargers and Los Angeles Chargers was Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.
Tomlin admitted when he spoke to the media on Tuesday that he dozed off late in the game and noted it was probably better that he missed the end of the game.
What Tomlin missed was his team nearly missing the playoffs due to a tie. The Raiders seemed content to let the clock run out, which would have sent the Chargers and Raiders to the playoffs and left Pittsburgh out. But a last-second change of heart by Las Vegas sent the Chargers home and gave the Steelers hope.
Tomlin had better get his rest because it is a monumental task to try and find a way to beat the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend. Kansas City routed the Steelers in the regular season and are chomping at the bit to get another shot at the struggling Steelers.
