The Pittsburgh Steelers have had one head coach since 2007. Mike Tomlin replaced Bill Cowher and has since carved out a place in the NFL with one of the most staunchly loyal franchises in all of professional sports. But how good is Tomlin? According to CBS Sports, in their ranking of the 10 best head coaches for the 2020 season, Tomlin checks in at No. 7.
To his credit, Tomlin has two trips to the Super Bowl and one Super Bowl championship. But among the fanbase, Tomlin is a polarizing figure. His fans will point to the fact he’s never had a losing season as coach of the Steelers. His critics point to two straight misses from the playoffs and three playoff wins in the last nine seasons.
There are no real surprises ahead of Tomlin on this list. The league has a ton of great coaches and Tomlin probably fell right where he should have. Where would you rank Tomlin among the top coaches in the NFL? Let us know in the comments.
