Steelers guard James Daniels had a funny response to becoming first NFL player to wear a Guardian Cap in a game

Here’s the first player ever to wear a Guardian Cap during an actual game.

Guardian Caps — which are used as additional head protection over helmets — are all the rage during NFL training camps as players are required to use them there.

But now, there’s the option to wear them during games. And with the Pittsburgh Steelers playing the Houston Texans in a preseason game on Friday night, Steelers right guard James Daniels might have become the first player to ever wear one in a contest.

What did he have to say about it? Per the Post-Gazette’s Brian Batko, as you can see below: “My head doesn’t hurt, so that’s good … Hopefully more and more people start wearing them.”

That’s good!
