It might not be the free-agent news Pittsburgh Steelers fans expected but it is something. The team announced on Monday they have signed general manager Kevin Colbert to a one-year contract that will keep him the general manager of the team through the 2022 NFL draft.

Colbert has been operating on a year-by-year basis for some time now and seems to be comfortable with deciding at the end of year season if he wants to continue. Ownership also seems good with this sort of arrangement.

Colbert has been the Steelers GM since 2010 and was the team’s director of football operations going all the way back to 2000.
