Steelers get a bargain with G Trai Turner contract

Trai Turner’s new contract is good for him and for the Steelers.

According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, the one-year contract guard Trai Turner signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers is for $3 million. I assume there are probably some incentives in there that could drive up the value a bit but overall this is a solid, “prove it” type of contract for a Turner.

Whether or not it turns out to be a bargain will depend on Turner’s health. Turner’s 2020 season was riddled with injuries and he had by far his worst year as a pro.

Turner claims he is 100 percent healthy now and ready to go. He’d better be because this Steelers offensive line overhaul needs some veteran talent on it and Turner is the best of the bunch when he’s at full health.
