Cameron Heyward:
"If we had a checklist of how to play the worst game possible, we did that."— Chris Adamski (@C_AdamskiTrib) January 11, 2021
Unfortunately, players are forced to get up in front of the media after big losses and bare their souls. This is what we saw when Pittsburgh Steelers defensive tackle Cam Heyward did after the team’s 48-37 playoff loss to the Cleveland Browns on Sunday night.
Heyward was candid about his future with the team and everything that went wrong against the Browns. It was tough and sit and listen to Heyward talking about possibly not coming back next year and the need for changes on the Steelers.
Heyward is currently under contract through the 2024 season but Pittsburgh is preparing to enter salary cap purgatory with some massive contracts on the books. For the past 10 seasons, Heyward has been the heart and soul of the Steelers defense but the reality is crashing down on this team that many of its most beloved veterans are reaching the end of the line.
