When the Pittsburgh Steelers lost defensive tackle Javon Hargrave to free agency, the front office went out and immediately traded for Chris Wormley to fill the void. Unfortunately, Wormley has been on the mend for the entirety of the team’s camp since putting the pads on.
Wormley spoke to the media on Thursday and he vowed to be ready for the team’s Week One matchup with the New York Giants on Monday Night Football.
You hate to think this trade isn’t going to pan out but you hate to see a guy you gave up a draft pick for being unable to get on the field in training camp. It wasn’t as if Wormley is being viewed as the answer to losing Javon Hargrave but if you really look at the Steelers defensive line depth, the Steelers are banking on Wormley being a run-stuffer in situational football.
Where do you stand on Wormley? Do you think he’s going to have an impact on the defense this season? Let us know.
