Despite the fact it’s the start of the 2020 NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers keep handling their business. The team announced on Thursday morning that outside linebacker Bud Dupree has signed his franchise tender.
Dupree finally had his breakout season in 2019. He finished with 11.5 sacks and along with T.J. Watt formed one of the most formidable pass-rushing tandems in the league.
By signing his tender, it will mean Dupree will be paid $15.8 million for 2020 and be a free agent at the end of the season unless he and the Steelers opt to work out a long-term contract in the offseason.
