In the Golden State Warriors’ 2021-22 regular-season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers, it was looking like an off night for defending scoring champ Steph Curry.

With the Warriors trailing by six at halftime, Curry recorded 10 points on 3-of-11 shooting from the field with six boards and five assists in 17 minutes.

During Golden State’s comeback run in the second half, the two-time Most Valuable Player’s struggles continued. Curry only shot 2-of-10 shooting in the second half. The point guard finished the contest with 21 points on 5-of-21 shooting from the field and 2-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc.

On his way to 21 points against the Lakers, Curry added 10 rebounds and 10 assists to secure the eighth triple-double performance of his career. Tuesday’s contest was Curry’s first triple-double effort since 2016.
