The Philadelphia 76ers have finally hired a new coach in Doc Rivers on Thursday after firing Brett Brown way back on August 24 after being swept in Round 1 of the playoffs.
Rivers is a guy who is well-respected around the league and he is expected to get the most out of the team’s star duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons as the team moves forward. He succeeded with both the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Clippers in the past so it will be interesting to see what he does with this team.
Embiid is clearly excited about the hire as he took to Twitter to give a shoutout to his new coach and how he is ready for the franchise to move on and build with this team.
