Alabama Basketball star signee JD Davison collects another prestigious honor, as he was named a McDonalds All-American on Tuesday.

The Calhoun High School star was one of 24 players to make the cut for the McDonalds All-America squad as one of the best point guard recruits of the 2021 class.

Despite being named to the team, Davison and the rest of the players selected will not compete in the game this season, due to COVID-19

“While we’re disappointed, we can’t hold an in-person Games this year, that does not take away from the accomplishments of this class and they will forever be a part of the legendary group of past and present McDonald’s All Americans,” selection committee chairman of the McDonalds All-America game Joe Wootten told USA TODAY.

Davison is the eighth Crimson Tide signee to be named a McDonalds All-American. Prior to Davison’s selection, Collin Sexton was the most recent pick in 2017.
