Stanford transfer Kanaan Carlyle a portal target for UCLA

UCLA eyeing Stanford freshman Kanaan Carlyle in portal.

The UCLA Bruins are leaving no page unturned as they are working in the transfer portal. The Bruins have shown interest in Stanford’s Kanaan Carlyle along with plenty of other schools.

Carlyle averaged 11.9 PPG with 2.7 assists and 2.7 rebounds for Stanford. Jarod Haase was let go and Stanford hired Washington State coach Kyle Smith in a flurry of Pac-12 coaching carousel moves.

Karlyle has also heard from the following schools, per 24/7 High School Hoops:

  • Duke
  • Texas Tech
  • Arkansas
  • Oklahoma
  • Georgia
  • Georgia Tech
  • Miami
  • Villanova
  • Indiana
  • Baylor
  • Cincinnati
  • Florida State
  • Clemson
  • Gonzaga

Carlyle just finished his freshman year at Stanford, so he is expected to be one of the most coveted players in the portal.

The Athletic has Carlyle as the 5th best player in the portal for a number of reasons, so there is no doubt this would be a massive addition to Mick Cronin’s team as they head for the Big Ten in 2024.
