The Spurs and Lakers have met twice already in San Antonio this season, but Gregg Popovich and the Spurs will visit the Staples Center on Thursday night to try and win their first game of the year against the defending champions. If you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.
The game tips off at 10:00 p.m. ET / 7:00 p.m. PT and can be seen on Fox Sports Southwest and Spectrum SportsNet (LAL).
The Lakers (5-2) are on a four-game winning streak, though they’re only 2-2 against the spread during that span. The Spurs (3-4) are winless in two games against the Lakers this season, but just upset the Clippers in LA on Tuesday.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Anthony Davis and LeBron James are all questionable for the Lakers. Derrick White and Quinndary Weatherspoon are out for the Spurs.

Advice and prediction
DeMar DeRozan has been cooking in his last two games, averaging 27.5 points per game in the Spurs last two wins, and Patty Mills exploded for eight threes and 27 points against the Clippers. That’s unlikely to reoccur on Thursday – but the Lakers haven’t been clicking offensively over their last three games despite winning each.
The Spurs (5-2 ATS) have been the better team to back early this season, and with the Lakers potentially looking to reduce the load on Anthony Davis and LeBron James, I’m leaning toward Spurs +5.5 on Thursday.
Prediction: Lakers 112, Spurs 109
