The future of the San Antonio Spurs organization changed forever this summer, as they got the chance to select Victor Wembanyama with the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. The 19-year-old French superstar is one of the most hyped prospects since LeBron James in 2003, and he’s earning major praise.
Spurs big man Sandro Mamukelashvili recently compared Wembanyama to Giannis Antetokounmpo, who he played with while on the Milwaukee Bucks. Obviously, the similarities are evident, as they are both long, uber-talented, foreign players. However, Wembanyama has a long, long way to go if he hopes to reach the mountaintops that Antetokounmpo has in the NBA.
