The San Antonio Spurs season is almost over. It was a rough one, as the Spurs are on pace to finish with the second-worst record in franchise history. Now, all that’s left to do is end the year with the last few games they have and head into the offseason ready to improve next year.
Devin Vassell and Jeremy Sochan are both done for the season, and Keldon Johnson has missed some games down the stretch, too. With all the absences the Spurs have been dealing with, some people have questioned whether or not the team will shut down Victor Wembanyama. But that’s not what Wembanyama wants.
Wembanyama recently said that he has no plans to sit out games. (H/t Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News)
“It is just my mentality,” Wembanyama said. “I made a commitment to this team. I have a responsibility towards the organization and the team and the fans. So there’s no reason to sit out.”
Wembanyama is committed to playing when healthy.
