Heading into the season, everyone had their eyes on the San Antonio Spurs. The selection of Victor Wembanyama with the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft meant that people would put the team under a microscope, as Wembanyama was the most hyped-up prospect in the draft since LeBron James in 2003.
So far this season, the 20-year-old Frenchman has been absolutely incredible. His freakish athleticism and physical tools make him super fun to watch. Wembanyama’s offensive game is unlike anyone else’s in the league, and his defensive potential is absolutely through the roof, as he’s already one of the league leaders in blocks as a rookie.
During a recent edition of UNDISPUTED, Skip Bayless spoke about how Wembanyama has surpassed the hype that surrounds him.
Obviously, there is a ton of pressure on Wembanyama to be great, but he doesn’t worry about that. And so far, Wembanyama has been even better than what most people expect.
