The future is now for the San Antonio Spurs. After selecting Victor Wembanyama as No. 1 overall in 2023, the Spurs are now challenged to bring in the right pieces around him to get back into contention in the West.
It started early on Wednesday night with the Spurs selecting UConn wing player Stephon Castle as the No. 4 pick. Castle is an elite perimeter defender as he played a huge role on that end to help the Huskies win a title. He averaged 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists while shooting 47.2% from the floor and will fill a nice role next to Wembanyama.

Castle will step in right away and likely be a starter to join Wemby and Devin Vassell to form a nice core. With that selection done, the Spurs still have work to do. They hold the No. 8 pick in this draft and have the opportunity to add another top-10 talent in this draft.
