Just before the All-Star break, the Philadelphia 76ers waived Julian Champagnie to create roster space to sign Mac McClung to a two-way deal.
Champagnie played in just two games for the Sixers before being waived. He spent most of his season in the G League with the Delaware Blue Coats. There was no clear path for Champagnie to earn more playing time.
In the middle of a rebuild, the San Antonio Spurs swooped in and claimed Champagnie off waivers. The Spurs offer him a chance to develop and earn the court time necessary to become a rotation player in this league.

While in college at St. John’s, Champagnie averaged 19.2 points and shot 45.7% from the floor in his third collegiate season. While the Sixers couldn’t offer him an opportunity to play, the Spurs do. Now he just has to take advantage of the opportunity.
