The Sacramento Kings have swung a big deal in free agency by acquiring former San Antonio Spurs star DeMar DeRozan. After spending three seasons with the Chicago Bulls, DeRozan will sign with the Kings.
It will be a 3-team sign-and-trade deal with the Kings sending Harrison Barnes to the Spurs in the deal. Barnes averaged 12.2 points and 3.0 rebounds while shooting 38.7% from deep in the 2023-24 season with the Kings.
Barnes brings an ability to shoot the ball to San Antonio and will help space the floor for Chris Paul and Victor Wembanyama on the offensive end. This is a nice addition on paper for the Spurs.

Barnes also brings a ton of experience. He won a championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2015 and helped the Kings get back to the playoffs in 2023. He will be looking to help the Spurs get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2019.
