Splatoon 3 Direct presentation announced for this week

Find out the date and time of the upcoming Splatoon 3 Direct presentation airing this week.

There hasn’t been a dedicated Nintendo Direct for a while, but Nintendo has announced that it will shine a spotlight on Splatoon 3 this week with a 30-minute long Splatoon 3 Direct presentation, airing on Wednesday, August 10, at 9am ET.

As with other Nintendo Direct presentations, this will be live-streamed so fans can witness the announcements simultaneously across the globe.

We’ve already had a small handful of Splatoon 3 trailers, showcasing new weapons, items, and designs for your squid kid avatar. With the length of this presentation being as meaty as most fully-fledged Nintendo Direct streams, it’s hoped that we’ll get a lot more information on new content and fan-favorite modes and features.

Salmon Run, the cooperative 4vAI mode, has already been confirmed to return with some brand new enemy types, and while we haven’t seen any of Splatoon 3‘s single-player adventure yet, we can rest assured that we’ll finally see something new this week.

Splatoon 3 is, in case the title wasn’t descriptive enough, the third entry in the Splatoon series, with each focusing on online multiplayer. Squid Kids can engage in a variety of different battle modes, including painting the ground in a form of territory control. The squid avatars allow players to swim through the ink to travel quickly and plan their next move.

As players battle through the ranks, they also unlock new weapons and gear, allowing them to customize their avatars with fashion inspired by the streets of Tokyo. The music is similarly filled with a too-cool-for-school attitude, even if the lyrics are unintelligible squid language.

Splatoon 3 is planned to release September 9, only one month away, so we can expect the Splatoon 3 Direct to be our final release of information on the game until the review embargo lifts prior to launch.
