Spinning Back Clique REPLAY: Kayla Harrison’s big move, UFC 300 keeps building, Jon Anik’s dilemma and more

On SBC LIVE, our panel breaks down Kayla Harrison’s move to the UFC, the Jon Anik controversy and much more. Tune in at noon ET.

Check out this week’s “Spinning Back Clique,” MMA Junkie’s weekly live show that takes a spin through the biggest topics in mixed martial arts.

This week’s panel of Brian “Goze” Garcia, Mike Bohn and Nolan King will join host “Gorgeous” George Garcia live at noon ET (9 a.m. PT) to discuss and debate:

  • Kayla Harrison bolted the PFL to sign with the UFC for a promotional debut against ex-bantamweight champ Holly Holm at UFC 300. What do we make of the move, which will be her bantamweight debut – and took away the shot of her against Cris Cyborg in the PFL?
  • The brass promised the historically numbered UFC 300 in Las Vegas would be epic, and so far it’s stacked top to bottom. And it might not be done growing yet. What’s missing?
  • Hey, UFC 300 isn’t the only big-time show coming up. UFC 298 next month and UFC 299 in March have great matchups, too. But between those two and UFC 300, we’ve been focused on the big title bouts and attention-grabbing matchups. There are killer ones falling off our radar. What are they?
  • The UFC Hall of Fame will add former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar to its roster this summer during International Fight Week. The blue collar fighter from New Jersey also fought for UFC titles at featherweight and bantamweight in his career. We’ll talk about his inclusion and who else should go in with him this year.
  • UFC lead play-by-play voice and host Jon Anik found himself in the news when he was critical of MMA fans, in a general sense, on his podcast – to the point of suggesting the toxicity that emanates from many of them might eventually contribute to him leaving the sport. The reaction from some of those fans was unpleasant enough that Anik offered up an apology. We’ll weigh in on it all.
