Award-winning film director Spike Lee said on Monday that he is considering offering a role to Zion Williamson in a sequel of the popular “He Got Game” basketball movie.

Lee told Sage Steele during a Jordan Brand live stream that a sequel to the movie has been discussed over the years with Ray Allen, who starred in the 1998 movie as Jesus Shuttlesworth. Lee said he and Allen were trying to schedule a meeting with Williamson prior to the coronavirus pandemic.

“We were trying to get a meeting with him before [the coronavirus pandemic],” Lee told Steele, via SLAM. “Ray Allen and I were trying to get a meeting with him in New Orleans. I’m still for it.”

Lee said during the live stream that nothing is official with Williamson in a potential sequel to the film. He also stated that the storyline for the remake is still “murky” in his head but a return of Denzel Washington, according to Lee, is off of the table.
