Kenny Atkinson didn’t want to solely blame the Nets’ loss on their poor shooting performance on Thursday. He felt the New York Knicks deserved the win over Brooklyn with the way they played.
But the numbers are undeniable. The Nets shot 26.9% from the floor and 26.0% from 3-point range. The Nets made a grand total of 21 shots.
As much as Spencer Dinwiddie didn’t want to give the Knicks a win, the Nets’ miserable shooting night made the loss at Barclays Center somewhat easier to deal with:
We shot 27% from the field. Like, it [would] be different if they came out here and was like at our head. We played really, really bad. Like laughably bad, honestly. We’ve had different losses over the years where I’ve stood here and been, like really serious or upset or something like that. We shot really, really — like probably historically bad. I’m assuming, I don’t know the actual numbers.
Spencer Dinwiddie isn’t too concerned about losing to the Knicks, citing how the Nets had a historically bad shooting night.
Off to the side, I spoke with Dinwiddie who gave Julius Randle a ton of credit. pic.twitter.com/I1r58hFcG0
