Last season, Joe Harris represented the Brooklyn Nets well at NBA All-Star Weekend when he walked away with some hardware after he won the 3-point Shootout.
The season before, Spencer Dinwiddie was the one representing the Nets well during the All-Star festivities. He won the Skill Challenge, becoming the first Nets player to do so since Jason Kidd won the inaugural Skills Challenge in 2003.
As much as Dinwiddie places an emphasis on winning games above all individual success and accolades, it turns out this honor is pretty important to him. Last season, Boston Celtics wing Jason Tatum won the Skills Challenge — which did not feature Dinwiddie.
And it turns out he wants a chance to take back his title:
Gotta be the only reigning champ not to get invited back 🤣 https://t.co/uRKaLpFNun

Throughout the season, Dinwiddie has been in constant consideration for Eastern Conference Player of the Week — having won it once — as well as Eastern Conference Player of the Month both times the award was handed out.
He’s been in consideration for the All-Star Game, as well. But, he was really only hoping for another shot at the Skills Challenge title.
I really only expected a Skills Challenge invitation to start the season. One of my goals.

Dinwiddie and the Nets are back in action on Sunday at 6 p.m. against the Atlanta Hawks. The game may mark the first time in a while where Dinwiddie doesn’t start for Brooklyn, with Kyrie Irving expected to return.
